APCO/Valve and Primer Corporation was Established in 1895. In the beginning, the firm's name was AUTOMATIC PRIMER COMPANY, or in an abbreviated form....APCO. As years passed, the trade name APCO steadily gained wider recognition, by Design Engineers, than the true corporate name. Hence, the valves were commonly referred to and specified as APCO VALVES. AUTOMATIC PUMP PRIMERS were the first products introduced. These were successfully marketed and became the foundation on which to build. Next introduced were AIR VALVES and today APCO's the leading producer of the most complete line of AIR VALVES in the world. APCO AIR VALVES are used on pumps and pipelines in Power Plants, Utilities, Municipalities and Industrial Plants of all types. APCO has furnished AIR VALVES to the ARMY, NAVY, AIR FORCE, COAST GUARD and on many critical installations, including missile sites and nuclear submarines. In 1957, VALVE AND PRIMER CORPORATION introduced it's first check valve line. Since then, there has been a steady introduction of distinctly different APCO Check Valves, Including: Silent Check Valves, Swing Check Valves, Rubber flapper swing check valves, Automatic control check valves, Double door check valves.

The Dwyer® valve product line includes several types of valves to cover a wide range of applications. Control valves are used to continuously regulate the flow of a fluid in a system by changing the amount of flow through the valve to control a process. The change in flow rate can be used to control temperature, flow, pressure, level, Ph, etc. Block valves are used to stop or block a flow in a system and are for on-off service. The stoppage of flow from a block valve enables them to be used as a drain, bypass, shut-off, etc.
